It's fall and I'm nostalgic. And it can always be wrapped up like that for me. There's just something about this time of year that "brings it all back". Back to "what" exactly, I don't know, but what I do know is that I'm fiercely traditional. I guess that's a funny way to describe my traditional nature since I'm not really violent about it, but you get the point. What I really mean to say is that I have a lot of rules in regards to my traditions. One of them is that we don't play Christmas music until Thanksgiving weekend, the reason being that we love it so much we don't want to wear it out before the season even hits. Which brings me to something else: Christmas decorations. I love 'em. I love going into stores and seeing everything all done up, whether it's Target, Macy's, Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Nordstroms....you name it. And they got me in the grasp of their consumers hand, too. I want that cute Christmas tree mug from Starbucks, that set of eight snowflake place settings from Pottery Barn, that Santa Claus bundt cake mold from Williams and Sonoma and the reindeer hot chocolate mix from Sees Candy. I LOVE IT ALL!

Sorry.....I'm stepping over my Traditional boundaries by talking about Christmas when we're still three days away from Halloween. Now, I've always loved Halloween, but it's kind of been more of a bridge to Thanksgiving for me than anything else. Don't get me wrong, I love all the spookiness, kookiness, candy and greed as much as anyone, but just knowing that Thanksgiving is around the corner with all of the fighting and bickering getting ready to begin...well...its hard for me to contain my excitement.

I love it all.

I'm so with you on this- we just got an old record console, so I went out and found a ton of old Christmas records to spin. I like the idea of Halloween, but I can get up for the costume. really, I just cant wait for the Thanksgiving/Christmas madness- bring it on baby, I love it all!

I'm living in Japan right now and am totally happy that they celebrate most of the same holidays we Americans do. A bit differently, though. Halloween is more "parties" and stuff, no kids going around door to door. Christmas is indoors, no one really decorates outside, since like 80% of the population live in small apartments. But businesses go all out during holidays. There is a building in Tsukuba Center, a shopping district in my city, that is lit up and decorated like a giant Christmas present, bow and everything. Very adorable and eye-catching.

I'm getting nostalgic about this post. I remember reading it back when I was young. I was 25, and Conan O'Brien was still on TV. Those were the days...

I am so excited to see what you bring out this year! Expect to hear some epic symphonic heavy metal remixes of some of your songs in the coming years. No joke.

Welcome.
The Otherly Opus is one of my favourite records. I love sound of the 80's, especially New Romantic movement. When i listen Joy Electric i'm in the past - feelings like old english clubs as Batcave or Blitz. This music is full of emotions and i found the same moods like in John Foxx albums.
Sorry for my english.

Stop pushing the Christmas boundaries Ronnie. No carols until the day after Thanksgiving and then an abrupt but necessary stop on New Years Eve. Even with the red cups already at Starbucks and the tinsel already hanging from the ceiling at Target. That's just the way it's got to be.

BTW: Nice sites.
